The sleeping room is located in the
free reading room B-2 of the ECC building. It is a very basic place to sleep.
There are several big black chairs which are so soft and comfortable and look
like small beds. In addition, it will be nice if you bring some blankets,
because this place can be little cold. However the room is extremely quiet so
you can enjoy a deep sleep. Also, there are some sockets to charge your cell
phone while you sleep. Therefore, if you have student ID card or mobile application
of Ewha, then you can reserve a seat.
The next place is the first floor
in the central library. On the first floor, there are three good
sleeping places. First, when you pass the entrance, there are some red and
green chairs on the left side. The chairs are not big enough to sleep on, but
when you combine two of them, it makes a good sleeping arrangement. Second, on
the right side of the entrance, there are many sofas and tables. Especially,
the gray and red sofas are good to sleep on. Again, the chairs are not big enough
to sleep on, but when you combine them, it would be as comfortable as a single
bed. Finally, beside the second sofas are two big green sofas. This place is
more comfortable than the second one. However, as there are no clear boundaries
on the sofas, sometimes you may be disturbed by other students lying on the sofa.
These three places are very
popular in the examination period. Therefore look quickly for extra places and
get them. Then, you have a lot of opportunity to study more.
In every floor on the library
except the first and underground floors, you can see many violet or wine color sofas, many of
which have nearby wall sockets to recharge your phone battery. They are velvet
sofas, and they are very big. They are bigger than a student’s body, so you can
stretch out.
However, as the sofas are made
for reading books, the room is a bit bright and cold to sleep in. Also, you can
smell the strong scent of books, so do not enter there if you hate that kind of
smell. As many people enter and go out, the 2nd floor is a bit noisy. However,
as just a few people come to the library to read or study (except in the exam
period), usually there are no people to watch you and it is very quiet.
You can read books before sleep.
Especially, novels and poem collections are on the 3rd floor, so it would be
helpful for your sweet sleep.
To sum up, there are many good
sleeping places in Ewha. When you need an electronic socket, the sleeping room
in the ECC and the central library except first floor are optimal places for
you. Otherwise, when you need quiet and comfortable places, the first floor of
the central library is also good choice for you.
